ALTADENA STUDIO & PRODUCT DESIGN

Altadena, California
I worked alongside the founder of Birla Angelica during an exciting period of growth and expansion. As the property evolved into a home-based wellness destination, including the addition of two tiny houses for guests and services, I provided support in bringing the spaces into practical, everyday use.
Following construction, I helped organize and prepare the property for production, client sessions, workshops, retreats, and special events. My role included setting up workspaces, refining guest areas, supporting product development, and creating packaging and a space blessing kit that reflected the values of the business.
What I appreciated most about this project was witnessing how thoughtfully curated spaces can support meaningful experiences. The property brought together creativity, healing, hospitality, and community in a way that felt both natural and intentional. My work focused on helping the spaces function smoothly so that the owner, guests, and practitioners could focus on the work they were there to do.
The property was sadly lost in the 2025 Eaton Fire. While the loss is profound, I remain grateful for the opportunity to contribute to a place that offered care, connection, and inspiration to so many people. A creative and talented team is now reimagining the site, and I look forward to seeing what emerges in its next chapter.

“Johanna transformed all of the spaces in my life for the better. The way she approached projects was like nothing I had experienced before; there is a genuine intimacy and a holistic quality in her method.”
