DANISH RETREAT HOUSE

Tikøb, Denmark
I had the opportunity to help imagine and implement a retreat house as part of an addition to a historic Danish estate. Surrounded by gardens, fields, and forests, the new wing was thoughtfully designed to complement the original architecture while creating space for gathering, rest, and renewal.

Working closely with the property owners, I helped furnish and prepare spaces that included an evolving boutique and reception area, a yoga and workshop studio, and upstairs living quarters with private bedrooms and a shared kitchen.

What I remember most is the spirit of collaboration. Together, we considered how each space might support guests arriving from near and far—offering comfort, beauty, and a sense of welcome without excess. Years later, the retreat house continues to host family, friends, and gatherings, a testament to the enduring value of thoughtful hospitality.
